Governor Ted Strickland and Congressman Tim Ryan visit EIO’s Casting Development Center

Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and Congressman Tim Ryan visited EIO’s Casting Development Center to learn about EIO’s efforts in technology development and technology outreach.

In addition to touring the Center, Governor Strickland and Congressman Ryan learned about the success of various EIO programs. Included in this review were EIO’s materials development project for Ultrasupercritical Boiler and Turbine Operations; the successful application of Aluminum Bronze in Basic Oxygen Steel Production that increased energy efficiency, productivity and environmental performance at Republic Engineered Products in Lorain Ohio; the research effort to develop ceramic microsphere-based Aluminum Foams; and EIO’s statewide effort to support “Save Energy Now” a nationwide program of the US Department of Energy’s Industrial Technology Program.
