Our Mission is to develop, demonstrate, and incubate technologies that will improve the competitiveness of Ohio industry through increased energy efficiency, reduced operating costs and improved environmental performance.
We accomplish this by facilitating team building among existing public and private institutions as well as state and federal organizations collectively securing funds for development projects; developing new technologies in cooperation with colleges, universities, Ohio’s Edison Programs and National Laboratories; demonstrating and incubating new technologies for commercialization; and offering training and education both directly and through our University/College partnerships for new and existing technologies.

Ohio Grant for Nuclear and Clean Coal
Advanced Energy Supply Chain Development The Ohio Department of Development's Energy Office has
awarded a $250,000 grant to Energy Industries of Ohio (EIO)
to develop new suppliers for next generation nuclear and
clean coal power plants. The grant will be used to identify
Ohio companies that could supply components needed for
building high technology base-load power plants. Of main
interest are large castings, forgings, extrusions and
fabrications. The project is an example of the state's plan
to rely upon its traditional manufacturing strengths for
opportunities in the next generation energy arena. read more...
 Steel Conference Rousing Success On January 23, 2008 nearly 100 steelmakers and other
interested parties met at the Holiday Inn in Westlake to
hear a discussion of the very successful energy efficiency
and productivity enhancing project conducted at Republic
Engineered Products in Lorain. This project, managed by
Energy Industries of Ohio and funded by the US Department of
Energy through the Ohio Energy Office, replaced the
traditional carbon steel skirt on Republic’s BOF with an
AmeriBronze® skirt fabricated by AmeriFab, Inc.
